Last year senior management attended briefings in relation to PREVENT DUTY. Basically the aim of this training was to encourage schools and childcare providers to work in partnership with parents, staff and external agencies to ensure protocols are in place to build children’s resilience to radicalisation and to encourage fundamental British Values. Staff at Nursery also undertook on-line training in this area.
In order to fulfil our duty Management/staff need to be able to identify children who may be vulnerable to radicalisation, and know what to do when they have been identified. Prevent Duty is part of our wider safeguarding responsibility – similar to protecting children from other forms of harm.
WHAT DOES THIS FOCUS MEAN FOR US IN PRACTICE?
WHAT ARE FUNDAMENTAL BRITISH VALUES?
HOW ARE WE MAKING SURE THEY ARE IMPLEMENTED IN NURSERY?
