BUTTON BATTERIES – IS THERE A HIDDEN KILLER IN YOUR HOME?
Bolton Council have recently launched a new campaign to raise awareness of the dangers of the button or lithium batteries following some recent tragedies in Greater Manchester with children swallowing these types of batteries.
They are found in many common everyday items people have around the homes such as car keys, selfie sticks, greetings card, children’s toys. The main messages are to think about the storage of these batteries in the home and also to ensure that if you suspect that your child has swallowed one of these batteries, get help straight away from Accident and Emergency.
