MAD HATTERS TEA PARTY! ESHN2 Pre-School Newsletter May/June 2015

ESHN Preschool staff in their fantastic Mad Hatter tea party costumes!

Thank you to all who joined us for the ’Mad Hatters’ tea party we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We would also like to welcome all our new children to the Pre-school room.

Over May and June we are going to be very busy, through May our new role-play theme will be a garden centre: we will be using real resources such as cabbages, carrots and other vegetables for the children to use through their play. We will be using money to help support their mathematical development and discussing shapes and textures of vegetables and hopefully trying some new vegetable dishes. We will be following the theme through to the outdoors by re-designing our scarecrow and growing our own vegetables in the garden for us to try.

Our new story board theme is going to be Beauty and The Beast as requested by some of our children. This will include making paper Mache characters, wooden spoon characters for the puppet theatre and other crafts for our new display.

Through June we will be looking at the Butterfly Cycle and like last year we will be getting the real life caterpillars and observing them over time with the children until they transform into a beautiful butterfly. We will be extending this further by building our very own mini-beast hotel in the garden, for the children to explore. We will also be focusing on the new season of summer which will include changing our season’s board with the children’s craft designs and ideas.

We will now be sending out the home book packs for the school leaver’s who have returned their interest slip. This will really support their transition to school and their development. Please get involved we welcome your input and observations!

If you would like any temporary/permanent extra days please ask a member of staff for a “change of day request form” and we will try to accommodate your request if there is availability.

School leavers will now also be practicing their Graduation Play and we may be sending home some words/songs for you to practice with your child.

Thank you for your constant support!!
